Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Section of Neurosurgery in conjunction with the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College seeks a full-time post-doctoral fellow to join a neuroscience lab focused on neuromodulation. The translational neuroscience position will focus on several ongoing projects investigating electrical, chemogenetic, and optogenetic neuromodulation strategies to improve recovery from traumatic brain injury in a rodent model. Additional projects utilize available human neurophysiology data from patients in the epilepsy monitoring unit with implanted intracranial electrodes.

We offer the opportunity to participate in innovative research studies and protocols related to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and the movement disorders center, which provides access to single unit human microelectrode recordings and behavioral experiments. In addition, Dartmouth-Hitchcock provides an academic environment with participation in active neuroscience research. The successful candidate will have the chance to educate residents, medical students, and technicians and may receive an appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth commensurate with experience.

Qualifications include a Ph.D in neuroscience or a related field is required. Candidates must have experience with neurophysiology data analysis. Experience with animal models as well as optogenetic protocols preferred. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated an established track record of related research publications and grant support.
