Senior Lecturer / Lecturer / Senior Professional Practitioner / Professional Practitioner in Entrepreneurship in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology jointly in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (School of Biomedical Sciences) and the Faculty of Science (School of Biological Sciences) (Ref.: 201800666)
Applicants are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Professional Practitioner/Professional Practitioner in Entrepreneurship in the field of Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology. This is a joint appointment between the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (School of Biomedical Sciences) and the Faculty of Science (School of Biological Sciences), with the former as the home department, to commence on January 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or other relevant disciplines, with substantial teaching or working experience (at least 10 years after attaining the doctoral degree for Senior Lecturer/Senior Professional Practitioner; applicants with at least 3 years’ post-doctoral experience will be considered for Lecturer/Professional Practitioner). Teaching experience needs to be in the subjects related to entrepreneurship or business in the biomedical healthcare industry. Applicants should also have strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and the capacity to work under pressure and multi-task. The appointee will work closely with a team of colleagues dedicated to the development and delivery of innovative pedagogical approaches to improve students’ learning experience across several undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. For Senior Lecturer and Senior Professional Practitioner, housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
