Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
An NIH-funded position for a Research Fellow is available within the Lipid Metabolism Unit at the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology. As a member of the laboratory of Dr. Michael L. Fitzgerald, the position will focus on mechanisms of cardiovascular disease risk in HIV infected individuals. This translational biology project will involve functional and epigenetic profiling of monocytes obtained from clinical samples. Additional effort will center on fundamental questions of the retroviral/host interface that alter host lipid metabolism, innate immunity and the epigenome.
Successful candidates for this position will have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD with experience in cell biology and biochemistry. Virology and BL2+ experience are also helpful. Strong written, communication, and organization skills, as well as a high level of motivation are required.
