HIV Mucosal Immunology

Dr. Jay Berzofsky

Two Postdoctoral positions are immediately available for highly motivated candidates to work on either 1) basic mechanisms of induction, homing and regulation of antigen-specific mucosal T lymphocytes using mouse models or 2) novel mucosal HIV vaccine design using a non-human primate model.  The projects focus on aiding in vaccine design by developing novel strategies to enhance systemic and mucosal immunity to viral infections.

This position will provide excellent training opportunities in mucosal immunology.  The ideal candidates must be able to work independently and have demonstrated abilities in clear scientific project planning and reporting.  Experience in multiparameter flow cytometry, gene expression analysis, intestinal cell isolation, and mouse models of disease is desirable.  One position will be preferentially given to candidate with experience in non-human primate models.  Applicants must have Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, but fewer than 5 years of postdoctoral training.  Interested candidates should forward a copy of their CV, including contact information of three references, to:
