Dr. Chengyu Liang’s laboratory at the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, located in the Health Science Campus, is seeking Postdoctoral Scholar to investigate the role of protein ubiquitination in leukemia development and metabolic reprogramming.

Research in Liang Lab is centered on understanding the basic principle of cellular processes including autophagy, apoptosis, DNA damage/repair, and intracellular trafficking in cancer development (colon cancer, melanoma, and leukemia) and infectious disease. We make use of state-of-art technologies in cell biology, protein biochemistry, bioinformatics and genetic model for cancer and virus-related research. MMI has one of the strongest research programs in the nation, providing an excellent training environment for fellows and students.

The highly motivated candidates would have a Ph.D. or MD/PhD degree in molecular and cellular biology or related fields and be skilled in cancer biology, protein biochemistry, or related area. Candidates with demonstrable competence and proficiency in bioinformatics, and the mouse experiments would be helpful. The candidate should be able to conduct independent and challenging research under the PI’s close supervision and work in a highly collaborative manner to achieve assigned objectives.
