A post-doctoral position is immediately available in Dr. Ruitang Deng’s Laboratory in the College of Pharmacy, University of Rhode Island, to study nuclear receptors-mediated signaling in the development of bile acids-related liver disorders including cholestatic liver injury, hepatocellular carcinoma and metabolic liver diseases. The successful candidate will carry out experiments to investigate the molecular mechanisms, physiological and pathological significance of the interplay between the estrogen/estrogen receptor and bile acids/FXR signaling pathway using in vitro and in vivo disease models.
The selected candidate should have a PhD in molecular or cell biology, biochemistry, endocrinology, pharmacology or related fields, and is familiar with routine molecular, cellular, biochemical and immunological techniques. Working experience/background in the field of liver diseases or cancer research is preferable but not necessary.
