Currently, we have various openings for Biotechnicians - Level 1 for the Merck Manufacturing Division at our West Point, PA site. The position will work 2nd or 3rd shifts which includes weekends.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Performs manual and automated operations, general maintenance and support functions necessary for the production of vaccines.
  • Performs sampling/ in process testing supporting the manufacturing and validation processes. 
  • Maintains, cleans and prepares equipment used in vaccine production. 
  • Some Heavy Lifting 
  • Performs all work duties via automated systems or manual operations in compliance with safe operating procedures, company and government regulations, and good manufacturing practices. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, maintain neat, accurate and current records. 
  • Maintains, inventories, and transports all required equipment, materials, supplies and products. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Life Sciences, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or other relevant Science/Engineering program
  • Willing and able to work the second and/or third shifts
  • Willing and able to work weekends and holidays
  • Willing and able to work mandatory overtime
  • Experience working in an industry with GMPs
  • Experience working in an industry requiring extensive documentation
  • Experience working in a government-regulated industry
  • Experience working in a sterile environment
