Associate Professors at Institute for Molecular Science (IMS)

The Department of the Theoretical & Computational Molecular Science and the Department of the Life & Coordination- Complex Molecular Science are recruiting Associate Professors who are expected to start from December 1, 2018 or after. These are full-time and permanent positions.

 

Targeted Areas:

Theoretical & Computational Molecular Science; Innovative theoretical research on properties and functions of condensed matter and/or molecular systems.

Life & Coordinaton-Complex Molecular Science; Experimental researches on design, synthesis, and characterization of coordination complexes toward development of their novel chemical properties and/or innovative functions.
 

The successful candidates are expected to serve as a principal investigator of a research group with the support of competitive start-up funds and laboratory spaces. They are also expected to commit to teaching and supervising graduate students as a faculty of SOKENDAI (The Graduate University for Advanced Studies).Further information is available via e-mail (ims-recruit2018@ims.ac.jp).


The circulation of human resources across the scientists’ community is the philosophy that IMS has retained since its foundation in 1975. Based on this, IMS researchers are expected to promote outside IMS. The average period of stay for permanent professors is about ten years.
