Cellular and Molecular Biosciences Research Program Manager
The Cellular and Molecular Biosciences Research Program Manager (CAMBR-PM) will be a PhD-level scientist with experience in scientific communication and research management. The successful candidate will report jointly to the Chairs of the Departments of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology (BCMP) and Cell Biology, and will work closely with the Directors of Research Administration in these departments to develop and manage various research programs for the West Quad. This individual will also work with faculty in the greater Harvard molecular biosciences community to develop new collaborative research programs across Harvard University. The position also includes working with members of the Office of Resource Development to raise revenue from philanthropic sources to support cellular and molecular biosciences research at Harvard.
The Cellular and Molecular Biosciences Research Program Manager will have three primary duties.
1. Will identify potential cross-quad collaborative opportunities for faculty such as NIH Program Project Grants. Will bring together relevant quadrangle faculty to develop a strategy for proposals and will aid in writing and editing of proposals, including developing budgets. S/he will work with departmental finance teams to submit proposals.
2. Will work with the Office of Resource Development to prepare proposals and reports for philanthropic donors. S/he will work with faculty to develop and draft white paper proposals.
3. Will manage Cell Biology and BCMP fellowship programs, from creation and distribution of the Request for Applications, to collecting proposals, responding to program inquiries, organizing review committees, and sending acceptance and rejection letters to applicants. S/he will work with the relevant department finance team to record applicants and manage awards. S/he will also carry out other duties as required to fulfill the overall goals and responsibilities of the position.
