The Vasquez lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to design and carry out research in the areas of DNA damage, DNA repair, DNA structure-induced genetic instability, and epigenetics.  Research in the lab is focused on the mutagenic potential and role of non-B DNA structures such as triplex DNA in disease and on the molecular mechanisms of DNA damage recognition and repair.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. within the last three years in the Biological Sciences, Molecular Toxicology, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive research background in the molecular mechanisms involved in DNA repair. Experience with tissue culture, biochemical techniques, subcloning of plasmid vectors, DNA repair assays, and protein-DNA interaction studies.  Experience in DNA double-strand break repair, inter-strand crosslink repair, or epigenetics.
