Postdoctoral Fellow - Hematopoiesis and Leukemia - University of Pennsylvania

A full-time postdoctoral position is available in the Paralkar Lab in the Division of Hematology-Oncology, Department of Medicine and the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the University of Pennsylvania to study transcriptional regulation and ribosome biogenesis in hematopoietic stem cells and leukemia.

Our laboratory combines cutting-edge molecular biology approaches with in vitro and in vivo models of hematopoiesis and leukemogenesis to dissect the functions of genes that are mutated in human myeloid malignancies, and thereby gain insight into both normal blood development as well as the development of leukemia. Experimental techniques include: Murine studies including conditional gene knockout and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, advanced multi-color flowcytometry, high-throughput sequencing approaches including ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-Seq, ribosome profiling, and a variety of molecular assays.

Candidates must have an MD, PhD or MD/PhD degree and have prior proficiency with molecular biology techniques. Previous experience and skills with hematopoiesis are particularly valued. Bioinformatic experience would be a plus, but is not required. Please send a CV, a brief cover letter summarizing past research and career goals, and the names and contact information of three references to: Vikram Paralkar, M.D., Division of Hematology-Oncology, Department of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, BRB II/III, Room 551, 421 Curie Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Email: vikram.paralkar@uphs.upenn.edu.
