Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer / Lecturer / Senior Professional Practitioner / Professional Practitioner in Entrepreneurship in the Life Sciences in the School of Biological Sciences jointly offered by the Faculty of Science and the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, to commence on January 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a joint appointment between the School of Biological Sciences of the Faculty of Science and the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, with the former as the home department. The post will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in the Life Sciences with substantial teaching or practice experience (at least 10 years after attaining the doctoral degree for Senior Lecturer / Senior Professional Practitioner; applicants with less experience but with at least 3 years’ experience after their doctoral degree will be considered for Lecturer / Professional Practitioner). Teaching experience needs to be in subjects related to entrepreneurship or business in the life sciences. They should also have strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and capacity to work under pressure and multi-tasking. The appointee will be responsible for teaching, conducting tutorials, and providing internship supervision.
A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable for Senior Lecturer and Senior Professional Practitioner. Please note that the University is not able to offer a relocation assistance package (including housing accommodation and a passage and baggage allowance) to the successful candidate recruited from overseas.
