Postdoctoral Research Associate in Neuroscience / Neurobiology

The Bikoff lab is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers interested in studying neural circuitry in mice.

The goal of our research is to understand the functional organization of neural circuits that control movement. We approach this from multiple perspectives, including a focus on cell-type diversity within the spinal cord, and how descending systems in the brain convey information to different types of interneurons in the spinal motor system. We are also interested in exploring the functional roles of spinal interneurons in motor behavior.

Because these projects take advantage of a highly multidisciplinary approach, including mouse and viral genetic tools, single-cell genomics, whole-brain imaging with light-sheet microscopy, and mouse behavior, we are excited to recruit scientists with many different backgrounds, talents, and interests. Preference will be given to applicants who have received their PhD in the past 1-3 years and have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications. It is expected that the candidate will develop their own research project, interact collaboratively with other members of the lab, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. The Bikoff lab is strongly committed to mentoring and training lab members at all stages of their scientific career.
