Scientific Director, Pathology Resource Network
Health Research Inc (HRI), Roswell Park division is seeking a full-time Scientific Director, Pathology Resource Network. The Scientific Director leads the Pathology Network Shared Resource (PNSR) in terms of scientific oversight and project management, assists investigators with project, manuscript and grant planning as relevant to the work performed in the PNSR with the assistance of the Director, contributes scientific expertise to the development of projects, protocols and clinical trials that involve PNSR specimens or services, and contributes to the management of regulatory compliance from an Institutional Review Board standpoint for all PNSR projects. They also oversee the operations of the research histology laboratory and imaging services within PNSR, defines problems and issues that enhances the development of scientific research programs, and generates peer-reviewed funding for Institute scientific research projects. The Scientific Director participates in academic activities, such as manuscript writing, attends conferences and other scholarly activities. The Scientific Director works collaboratively with investigators, utilizes professional expertise and judgment to select appropriate immunohistochemical methodologies and techniques for scientific research studies, identifies problems, troubleshoots and modifies existing techniques or methods as appropriate to the project, and develops complete, comprehensive scientific research solutions. They also prepare budgets and analyze project resource requirements, supervises and coordinates all facets or designated portions of scientific research projects within research histology and imaging, and assumes major responsibility for the completion of projects.
