RESEARCH SCIENTIST POSITION
This position seeks an individual with hands-on laboratory working experience who will join the Biospecimen Science Research team of the Biobank at Chan Soon-Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine at Windber (CSSIMMW). The successful candidate will apply genomics and proteomics methods to study biospecimens with the aim of elucidating the effects of handling and processing activities on molecular integrity of biospecimens, and how molecular integrity of donor specimen potentially affects the result and success of biomedical research. Data from these studies will guide the design of biomedical research studies, the development of laboratory protocols and biobanking best practices for specimen collection, handling, and processing.
Responsibilities: Design and execute biospecimen science research experiments; conduct protocol optimization and validation. Perform data collation, data interpretation; prepare manuscripts, posters and presentations. Work independently and as a team member.
Qualification/Requirements: PhD in Molecular Biology or Biochemistry with 2-5 years postdoctoral research experience. Extensive hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology and biochemistry and good publication record is required. Strong organizational, communication and writing skills are also required.
