The Global Brand Lead (GBL) is responsible for creating and driving the Integrated Business Strategy for LENVIMA

  • Conceives and develops the Integrated Business Strategy by actively synthesizing inputs from cross-functional teams including CORE, MA&P, Medical, and key markets (US, EU5, Japan, China)
  • Responsible for commercial assessment for Latin America and other territories according to deal terms
  • Translates the Integrated Business Strategy into Lifecycle Management planning with a high degree of collaboration
  • Works closely high priority PDTs to bring forward the commercial perspective and earlier participation in development; responsible for bringing a unified Commercial voice to assigned PDTs
  • Accountable for the development of global marketing/customer strategy for products/brands
  • Focuses on strategic levers to maximize franchise/brands over medium to long-term based on customer needs (i.e. data generation, market access, LCM, COGS, etc.)
  • Enables favorable access environment at launch and maintenance post-launch
  • Responsibility for final labeling with Chief Commercial Officer sign-off
  • Engages in Global dossier development in partnership with CORE
  • Accountable for all planning and operational aspects of the franchise (Profit Plan, LROP, Forecast Updates)

  • Ability to interpret information across customers and payers to influence external policy and decision makers with the ultimate goal of understanding and taking better care of patients.
  • Leverages networks and information across digital, access, CORE, policy, and marketing.
  • Builds future leaders and engages a diverse multi-generational workforce; viewed as a role model for talent development
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize and make resource trade-offs across a portfolio
  • Brings forward a contemporary perspective that enables a dramatic shift in our business model and approach to meet future demands
  • Deep understanding of product development (e.g. prior experience in Oncology, USML experience, MRL collaboration, etc.) to effectively contribute to shaping asset development
  • Depth of Therapeutic Area (TA) knowledge
  • In-depth market understanding of ongoing clinical/commercial dynamics as well as emerging trends



Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Required:  BA
  • Preferred:  MBA

  • Ability and proven capability in synthesizing and integrating strategic information from across commercial functions
  • Oncology experience (sales or marketing)
  • Strong Business and financial acumen
  • Experience with MRL and Product Development Teams
  • Marketing lead –eg USML or in country Marketing head equivalent --Marketing management experience including experience in product strategy development and execution
  • Knowledge of Merck Marketing and demonstrated ability to apply, including leveraging customer insights to drive strategic choices and implementation plans to achieve objectives
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate across the organization
  • Ability to broadly understand and anticipate global competitive changes
  • Understanding and application of Merck's policies, compliance, operations and change management
