PhD positions in Neuroscience / Pain Research available in Vienna, Austria

At the Department of Neurophysiology, Center for Brain Research, two PhD positions are available as part of the international, fully funded PhD programme Medical Neuroscience at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. The positions are assigned to the groups of Ruth Drdla-Schutting and Jürgen Sandkühler. Both groups are studying mechanisms underlying acute and chronic pain at the molecular, cellular and behavioural levels using state-of-the art techniques including optogenetics, chemogenetics, in vivo and in vitro electrophysiology and advanced behavioural tests (see e.g. Science, 2016, 354:1144; Science, 2012, 335:235; Science, 2009, 325:207).
