We are currently recruiting for the Executive Director, US Oncology Marketing - KEYTRUDA. This role will have responsibility for overseeing directors and associate directors of marketing, the creation and execution of  all marketing plans, launch preparations, competitive plans, and ensuring marketing success for a subset of Gastrointestinal/MSI-H, Genitourinary, and Hematology indications (both launched and pending) for KEYTRUDA. This role will also coordinate with the Merck/MSD Executive Director, Global Brand Leads - KEYTRUDA to ensure US needs are considered in clinical development plans, lifecycle management planning, and brand positioning and strategy.  
  • Requires outstanding leadership in all areas of product management including market assessment, disease state strategy, product development, product strategy, market development, branding, market segmentation, product positioning, thought leader engagement, promotion, channel strategies, market access, reimbursement, competitive dynamics, issues management, forecasting, resource prioritization, and overall flawless launch execution. He or she will develop and execute business plans through marketing strategies, goals, and tactics.   
  • Demonstrated excellence in people management, personnel development, teamwork, and collaboration. 
 

 

 

Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

 

  • Provide a strong vision and leadership to both marketing and key account management teams
  • Leading a commercial team, working effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional partners including global, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, marketing communications, BD&L, market analytics, field sales, sales operations, legal, scientific communications, professional education, training and development, compliance to successfully navigate the internal and external environments and deliver value to our customers
  • Provides US commercial input to global on filing strategy and clinical development needs.  Leads US launch readiness reviews for tumors of responsibility, provides leadership and oversight on tumor and pan-tumor specific market research plans/needs, forecasting, and ensures marketing plans are built and executed to optimize brand position in market
  • Responsible for maximizing physician acceptance, market penetration, profitability, and new indication launch uptake
  • Accountable for achieving sales and budget forecasts for KEYTRUDA
  • People management, including attracting, retaining, and developing direct reports
 

Qualifications

 Education:
  • Required:  BA/BS
  • Preferred:  MBA
  •  Required Experience: 
  • Minimum of (10) years’ Pharmaceutical experience
  • Minimum of (3) years’ people management experience
  • Experience in product/indication launch, marketplace assessment, development of disease state / product strategy, product positioning and brand marketing
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, teamwork, analytical, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with collaboration, influencing without authority and working successfully with cross-functional teams 
  • 10-20% travel, including some weekends
  •  Preferred Experience:
  • Oncology Marketing and Sales experience and understanding of the Oncology treatment landscape
  • Experience and success in working in a matrixed environment
