The Business Process Team (BPT) within MSD Animal Health Global Supply Chain Management is responsible for the creation, design and sustainment of integrated and standardized supply chain business processes and solutions for the MSD Animal Health organization. The scope of processes include: E2E supply chain planning, planning systems & system landscape (SAP, Fusion Ops), sales forecasting, inventory management, and S&OP.  The Sr. Specialist Systems & Analytics will be instrumental to achieve the vision of the BPT and will report directly to the Director Business Processes & Master Data – Global Supply Chain Management. The main focus of the BPT is to develop, document and maintain Supply Chain Planning Concepts for +/-25 Production Sites, +/- 50 Sales Companies and the CMO organization. These planning concepts need to be implemented at all the Production Sites, Sales Companies and CMO’s with strong coaching by the BPT members. These planning concepts include, but are not limited to the following topics:
  • Mid Term Planning (Rough Cut Capacity Planning)
  • Short Term Planning (Detailed Scheduling)
  • Quality Planning
  • Planning Parameters
  • CMO Planning
  • Sales Planning
  • Distribution Planning
  • Supplier Managed Inventory, Vendor Managed Inventory
Moreover, members of the BPT support the roll-out of SAP to Production Sites and Sales Companies and lead the development and implementation of an Advanced Planning System. The work of the BPT is directly linked to the vision of Global Animal Health Manufacturing to achieve unconstrained, uninterrupted, compliant, cost competitive supply. Outstanding Planning Processes are required to support the growth strategy of Animal Health. Moreover, improved planning processes will increase customer service levels, increase efficiency in Production and Quality and decrease stocks. The position Related to the above, the Sr. Specialist Systems & Analytics is primarily responsible to:
  • Drive adoption of analytical tools in Global and Local SCM. Support the organization to fully leverage the capability of analytical tools.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain standardized reports for standardized planning processes together with team members from the BPT, other departments in Global SCM and local SCM organizations.
  • Create clear requirements for IT (e.g. Fusion Ops team) and work closely with IT to develop new analytical functionality.
  • Improve current analytical landscape, reduce the number of non-standard and non-validated reports and fields.
  • Document reports and fields
  • Create training materials. Coach and train colleagues from Global SCM, Sites, Sales Companies and CMO’s
  • Develop the Analytical strategy for Global SCM
  • Manage, lead and execute complex projects related to the planning processes mentioned above, in a global environment with local Planners, local Supply Chain Managers, and global colleagues from MMD, SCM, IT, Finance
  • Drive innovation in Global SCM

 

Secondary location Canada.


This postion can work remotely anywhere in US or Canada.

Qualifications


Desired skills & experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science or Technology and 6 years of relevant work experience or Master’s Degree in Business, Science or Technology  and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Broad understanding and knowledge of Supply Chain Management business processes.
  • Good understanding of Purchasing, Production, Quality and Lean Six Sigma within a pharmaceutical company.
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of SAP and Fusion Ops (Aera) and/or other above SAP analytical platforms
