Biotech Regulatory Scientist, J.R. Simplot Company (Boise, ID). Seek approval of biotech products in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Japan & other countries as needed for export & trade protection. Interface & communicate with U.S. & International Governmental Regulatory agencies to ensure the smoothest path through regulatory for company & partner biotechnology products. Work w/ the Director Regulatory Affairs, Regulatory Managers, & other Research Scientists to plan & execute studies needed for regulatory approval. Dvlp & monitor quality systems for managing successful market launches of biotech potatoes both domestically & internationally. Collaborate w/ biotech researchers to influence regulatory agencies regarding the product safety w/ the goal of minimizing time & resources needed for approval. Reqmts: Bachelor's Deg or equiv in Biological Sciences, Agronomy, Statistical Sciences, or related scientific field. 3 yrs exp in job or related biotechnology exp. In lieu of exp, a Master's Deg in Agronomy w/ related research activities is acceptable. Must be able to dsgn & interpret data from regulatory experiments used to assess & select improved crop products. Have the ability to process & present information w/ high levels of accuracy for regulatory submissions; Knowl of crop field testing based on agronomics & statistics; Ability to dsgn proper field trials including dsgn, measurement, & analysis of results, for regulatory compliance; Scientific Report Writing: Ability to create clear, succinct, & organized scientific reports that communicate research, ideas, & recommendations; Execute & document every aspect of a research plan. Excellent oral communication skills & ability to express oneself & communicate w/ others appropriately. Ability to travel internationally for up to 5 weeks yearly.
