Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry has an opening for a two-year Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow (PTF) specializing in Biochemistry beginning the 2018 Fall term.
The PTF will garner first-hand experience in teaching and research in Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUI) under the mentorship of tenured departmental faculty. Specifically, the PTF will teach upper-class biochemistry courses and laboratories, develop course and laboratory curricula, practice tenure portfolio composition, and advise undergraduate students.
An important aspect of the PTF’s training involves mentoring undergraduate research projects. The transition from graduate research to mentoring undergraduate research at PUIs can present significant challenges. The PTF will be advised with respect to designing research projects based upon student’s time restraints and skill levels that will maximize student learning and productivity of publication-quality research results.
To apply, please send a cover-letter, CV, an unofficial copy of your undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent to: Larry D Sutton, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Benedictine College, Atchison, KS via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
