Established in 1958 and formerly known as Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, Beijing University of Chemical Technology is a high-level university founded by New China to "cultivate advanced chemical talents required by cutting-edge science and technology innovation". As a national key university directly under the administration of Ministry of Education, also as a key contributor in both the national “211 Project” and “985 Advantage Subject Innovation Platform,” BUCT takes responsibility in high-level innovative personnel training, in basic and prospective scientific research and the original development of innovative and high technology.
BUCT has 2,298 staff and faculty members, including 1106 faculty members, 781 of whom with the title of professor or associate professor, and 7 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. There are 3 global experts recruited during the “1000 plan”, 1 outstanding professional and technical personnel, 11 distinguished professors and 2 chair professors from the “Cheung Kong Scholars Program” of Ministry of Education, 8 “973” project chief scientists, 19 winners of National Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 5 winners of “National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, 2 young scholars from the “Cheung Kong Scholars Program” of Ministry of Education, and 71 talents from “Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Universities”.
BUCT consists of 7 postdoctoral research stations, 6 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 29 second-level discipline doctoral programs, 96 master programs, 5 professional master’s degree programs, 10 engineering master programs and 50 undergraduate majors. Besides, there are 1 national first-level key discipline (covering 5 second-level disciplines), 2 national second-level key disciplines, 1 national key (nurturing) discipline, 3 Beijing first-level key disciplines (covering 14 second-level key disciplines), 2 Beijing key cross-disciplines, 3 Beijing second-level key disciplines, 8 national-level characteristic specialty construction programs, 16 municipal-level characteristic specialty construction programs, and 3 specialties accredited by Ministry of Education engineering education profession. The university has also established 2 state level key laboratories, 1 national engineering laboratory, 10 provincial and ministry-level key laboratories, 1 state-level research institute for engineering technology, and 15 provincial and ministry level research centers for engineering technology.
BUCT actively carries out teaching reform, promotes quality-oriented education in an all-round way, and the quality of teaching is steady improving. Now it has 12 state-level college students off-campus practical teaching bases, 2 state-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 1 state-level talents cultivating mode innovation experimental area, 2 state-level virtual simulation teaching and experimental centers, 1 municipal-level cultural quality education base, 1 Beijing philosophy and social science research base, 6 Beijing municipal-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 4 Beijing municipal off-campus personnel training base. II.“High-level Outstanding Talents”

“High-level Outstanding Talents” program aims to attract and bring together domestic as well as overseas distinguished talents. As the discipline leaders and key academic members in BUCT, they will promote the construction of high-level talent pyramid, promote the rapid development of the disciplines, develop and lead the development of new and interdisciplinary disciplines.
1)A-level talents: less than 50 years old (conditions may loosen considering discipline urgency);distinguished professor of “Cheung Kong Scholars Program” of the Ministry of Education; winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars or other scholars with the same or above academic degrees.
2)B-level talents: less than 40 years old; research ability being able to reach “Cheung Kong Scholars Program” or National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 5 years; having the experience of independently undertaking research projects at home and abroad and publishing high-level articles in top journals.
3)C-level talents: less than 35 years old; research ability being able to reach “Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Universities” in 2 years; having the experience of independently undertaking research projects at home and abroad and publishing high-level articles in top journals.
2.Treatment and Welfare
For those who meet the requirements of the high-level talents introduction, university will appoint relevant professional and technical positions, provide corresponding scientific research funds, lab and office, and interim housing, etc. Treatment for talents of special types are negotiable.
III.“Outstanding Young Reserve Talents”
Recruitment Requirements and Welfare
“Outstanding Young Reserve Talents” program aims to attract and bring together domestic as well as overseas excellent young talents, providing a platform for the rapid development of young scholars, so as to meet the requirements of constructing university young talents reserve pyramid.
1)Less than 32 years old. Graduated from related national key disciplines and tutored by first-rate expert in the field, or having the experience of studying and doing research in top overseas universities.
2)Research direction in line with university needs of discipline development, giving priority to new disciplines and cross-disciplinary research directions.
3)More than 6 SCI papers are published as the first author, and 3 papers are published in the top journals of this discipline. Participate in more than two state-level vertical projects or as a critical member in major overseas project research.
4)With recommendation letter from more than 3 well-known experts in the field.

IV.Other Faculty Positions Hiring Procedures
