Responsibilities
Do you seek an opportunity to carry out research in a pharmaceutical setting? Do you have experience in micelle technology? At Lilly, we are seeking opportunities to apply micelle technology to our pipeline of compounds. In this role, you will work with teams to take reactions from concepts, through proof of concept, to actual process with the possibility to use at scale. This post-doctoral experience will allow you to:
  • Critically evaluate the micelle based process vs tradition process and assess/determine benefit
  • Alter routes to be more amenable to micelle technology
  • Contribute to the general scientific community through scientific publication.
  • Keep abreast of relevant scientific literature, new technologies, and capabilities
  • Provide internal and external influence
  • Ensure work and team activities are aligned with development quality and safety requirements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry or organometallic chemistry

Additional Skills/Preferences
  • General knowledge of experimental organic chemistry.
  • Many of the reactions in question are homogeneous metal catalyzed. Laboratory experience with such is desired but not essential
  • Familiarity with running reactions in micelles is desired but not essential.
  • Familiarity with synthetic route design.
  • Must be able to work productively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstration of scientific and people leadership skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Additional Information
  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
