FACULTY POSITIONS - Cancer Bioinformatics

Division of Hematology/Oncology

The Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking applications for faculty positions in bioinformatics with collaborative experience. The candidates will be responsible for leading the bioinformatics component of multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with colleagues to advance bioinformatics in basic and translational science and precision medicine. Appointments will be at the associate or full professor level, tenure earning, tenured or non-tenure earning, commensurate with experience. Applicants must have a PhD in bioinformatics or a closely related field and at least one year post graduate experience; demonstrated collaborative research success; experience with RNA sequencing, whole genome sequencing, epigenomic analysis (Methylome, ChIP Seq, ATAC Seq) and systems biology; a publication record in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals; and flexibility, creativity and excellent communication skills. The Division of Hematology and Oncology is rapidly expanding its clinical and translational research and educational activities with heavy investment from the Department, School, and Cancer Center. The UAB NCI-funded Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment centers.
