The Biomedical Sciences (BMS) Program of Midwestern University (Glendale, AZ campus) invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor. Midwestern University is an accredited, private, non-profit, health professions university with colleges in osteopathic, dental, and veterinary medicine, optometry, pharmacy, and the allied health sciences. The BMS Program is housed in the College of Health Sciences and offers two Masters degrees in Biomedical Science. BMS students are primarily interested in entering health professional or PhD programs, or careers in research.


Successful candidates must have a PhD in one of the biological or biomedical sciences, postdoctoral experience, and potential for developing an extramurally-funded research program. Preference will be given to applicants with: a strong statistical acumen; demonstrated ability to mentor graduate students; graduate-level teaching experience in physiology/pharmacology/pathophysiology, microbiology, and or biochemistry; and, a record of external research funding.


Faculty responsibilities include: teaching core or elective courses during 2-3 quarters of the academic year; mentoring graduate-level students; developing a recognized program of research excellence; and service on program and college committees.
