Post-doctoral Research Fellow
A post-doctoral research fellow position is currently available in the laboratory group of Dr. Jennie Lin at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine (linlab.science). Our research program focuses on the functional omics of cardiometabolic and kidney traits and diseases. We seek to understand (1) how key metabolic processes are regulated at the RNA level and (2) how natural human genetic variation can be harnessed to uncover disease mechanisms.
We are looking for a self-motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented, and collaborative candidate who can work efficiently and think critically. A high level of independence is preferred, and good communication skills are required. The candidate must have a MD or PhD degree equivalent and will lead projects requiring expertise in mouse metabolic phenotyping, iPSC culture, and genome editing. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating data, mentoring students, training junior staff, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting research findings at conferences.
- Extensive experience in handling and phenotyping mice for lipid, atherosclerosis, and renal
- Molecular biology techniques in cloning and designing CRISPR-Cas9 studies
- iPSC culture experience
- RNA-seq experience
Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interests, and the names and contact information for three references to Jennie Lin at firstname.lastname@example.org
