HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL
POSTDOCTORAL POSITION available to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease. The Shen lab utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to investigate the physiological roles of genes involved in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, and the pathogenic mechanisms underlying disease causing mutations (www.shenlab.net). Qualifications for the position include extensive research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and/or neuroscience. Prior experience in the studies of the basic mechanism of autophagy regulation is desirable. Our relevant publications include PNAS 106:14622-7, 2009, PNAS 107:9879-84, 2010, Mol Neurodegen 7:2, 2012, and Neuron 96:796-807, 2017. The postdoctoral fellow will be an integral team member of the BWH Udall Center of Excellence for Parkinson’s disease, which focuses on the interplay between LRRK2 and alpha-synuclein, and includes the Südhof lab at Stanford and the Yue Lab at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. (udallcenter.bwh.harvard.edu). Recent PhDs with a strong publication record, who are passionate about research and neurodegenerative disease, are encouraged to apply.
