A postdoctoral fellow position, supported by multi-year NIH grants, is available in the Department of Physiology & Cell Biology at the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine. The laboratory (http://www.usahealthsystem.com/zhalab) investigates neuronal signaling in neuronal injury and behavioral outcome, including anxiety and depression. The current research emphasis is on the contribution from acid-sensitive GPCRs and acid-sensing ion channels to these processes.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a background/interest in neuroscience or a related field. The applicant should have a recent PhD with a research focus on neuroscience, molecular and cell biology, channel physiology or GPCR signaling. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team are expected. Previous experience with cell and neuron culture, immunohistochemistry, rodent stroke models, rodent behavioral analysis, confocal imaging, molecular biology and protein analysis preferred. Interested applicants should submit a CV along with three references to Dr. Xiangming Zha (firstname.lastname@example.org).
