The Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research in Cologne, Germany, invites applications for Postdoctoral Positions in the Research Groups Neuronal Control of Metabolism of Prof. Jens C. Brüning (http://www.sf.mpg.de/research/bruening) and Synaptic Transmission in Energy Homeostasis of Dr. Henning Fenselau (http://www.sf.mpg.de/research/fenselau)

The groups use cell type-specific neuro-technology for mapping, manipulating, and monitoring the regulatory neuronal circuits of energy and glucose homeostasis. Applicants should be highly motivated, ambitious, and talented scientists who wish to be part of an international, enthusiastic and collaborative team in an outstanding scientific environment. Applicants should have a PhD in life science with experience in systems neuroscience approaches such as neurocircuitry mapping and in vivo calcium imaging, brain slice electrophysiology, mouse genetics or metabolism research. The working language is English; knowledge of the German language is not required.

Our Offer

The employment contract is based on contracts for the civil service (TVöD-Bund, Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst). The positions are available for an initial two-year appointment with the possibility of extension.
