Postdoctoral Fellowship in Genetic or Pulmonary Medicine
A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Genetic Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) in New York City. We offer cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical research programs related to pulmonary and genetic medicine. Areas of research focus include: airway epithelial cell differentiation, function, and response to environmental factors such as cigarette smoke or pathogens; genomics and gene expression; gene therapy including gene replacement and genetic vaccine strategies; statistical genetics and bioinformatics; and epidemiology/phenotyping. See http://geneticmedicine.weilll.cornell.edu/ for more details about ongoing research. Postdoctoral fellows will be expected to perform experiments, acquire and analyze data, integrate the current literature into experimental design and manuscripts, apply for research funding, and attend and present data at departmental and national scientific meetings. Qualified applicants will hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent terminal degree, verify research experience through authorship on high quality peer-reviewed published manuscripts, and, due to a limitation of the funding mechanism, demonstrate US Citizenship or permanent resident status.
Interested candidates should submit their electronic application to firstname.lastname@example.org and should include: (1) a cover letter that clearly states the candidates area of research interest and eligible for funding (U.S. Citizen or permanent resident), (2) an updated CV, and (3) a list of 3 professional references who may be contacted regarding the candidate’s qualifications.
