The Department of Neural and Behavioral Sciences, Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to have, or to establish, an active extramurally-funded research program. Exceptional more senior candidates with well-established research programs may also be considered. Details of existing departmental research strengths can be found at our website Our current search is directed towards applicants whose research focuses on one of the following areas: genetic, genomic and epigenetic approaches to understand the neural basis of neural structure or development; state~of-the-art molecular methods that link neural circuitry to behavior, especially in genetically-tractable mammalian model systems; molecular aspects of neuroinflammation; emerging issues in molecular, cellular, and developmental neurosciences. The Department of Neural and Behavioral Sciences provides a competitive start-up package, renovated laboratory space, excellent core facilities, and extensive opportunities for collaborative research and participation in both graduate and medical training programs. The Neural & Behavioral Sciences Department of the College of Medicine is located in Hershey, PA, and is immediately adjacent to the Hershey Medical Center, a strong community of health professionals. We enjoy great schools, excellent housing and are close to Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Candidates should hold a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree and are asked to submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, statement of research interests and goals, and the names of at least three references.
