Postdoctoral Research Scholar

Prof. Fanxing Li’s research group in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University is seeking a postdoctoral candidate to develop computational models to investigate and design mixed metal oxides with tailored redox and catalytic properties.

Highly motivated recent graduates with backgrounds in ab initio calculations on mixed oxides and catalytic systems are encouraged to apply. Ability to perform DFT calculations using standard quantum chemistry software packages (e.g. VASP) is required. Fluency in scientific programming stack (Python/ MATLAB) and experience in heterogeneous catalysis and/or material science are preferred. Applicants are expected to have published 3-5 articles in reputable peer reviewed journals.

The successful candidates will benefit from excellent scientific and collaborative environment as well as the state of the art research facilities on Centennial Campus at North Carolina State University. In addition to the above opening, a second position for (experimental) catalysis and reaction engineering is anticipated to open in the near future.

This is a 2-yr appointment, subject to review after the first year. The salary is $47k/yr plus fringe benefits. Interested applicants should apply through the NCSU job posting below:
