Assistant/Associate Professor Virology

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for full-time tenure-track faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. We seek an individual who will develop and maintain a strong externally-funded research program in a highly collaborative environment. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree and postdoctoral experience.

We seek to expand our programs in molecular virology with emphasis in pathogenesis in animal models, viral immunology, and antiviral therapy.  We have strong programs with BSL-3 and BSL-2 viruses, including flaviviruses, arenaviruses, bunyaviruses, alphaviruses, hepatitis B and C viruses, retroviruses, herpesviruses, adenoviruses, poxviruses, oncolytic viruses, and antiviral drug evaluation and discovery.     

We offer a competitive start-up and salary package as well as state of the art laboratory space including enhanced BSL-3 and A-BSL-3 laboratories, a large vivarium, and an advanced flow cytometry core.
