Postdoctoral Position in Stem cells, Development and Cancer
The Dawlaty Laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is actively seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows interested in any of the following areas: (1) Epigenetics of embryonic stem cells and development. (2) Hematopoietic stem cells and malignancies. (3) Computational and bioinformatics approaches in stem cell epigenetics.
Research focus: The lab is interested in understanding the epigenetic mechanisms underpinning the biology of pluripotent stem cells, development and cancer. Our work focuses on the role of DNA modifying enzymes (Tet enzymes) in ES cell biology, embryonic development and hematologic malignancies. We use stem cells and mice as model systems and combine bioinformatics, cellular and molecular approaches to study how DNA modifying enzymes reshape the epigenome and regulate cell fate during development and in tumorigenesis. Lab expertise: The lab specializes in genome engineering methodologies in mouse and human embryonic stem cells and iPSCs and generating complex strains of conditional, inducible, transgenic and knockout mice to dissect epigenetic pathways and mechanisms in vitro and in vivo.

- Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent degree.
- A record of publications from PhD or prior postdoctoral training work.
- Prior training in stem cell and developmental biology, genetics, and molecular biology is preferred.
- Prior experience in bioinformatics (NGS data analysis such as RNA-seq and ChIP-seq) is highly desired.
