Merck Research Laboratories is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Scientist/Associate Principal Scientist to join our expanding DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) team at our research site in Kenilworth, NJ. This position requires in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the DNA-encoded library technology (DELT) and extensive hands-on experience with the screening of DNA-encoded libraries, as well as data analysis, and hit validation using biochemical, biophysical and/or cell-based assays. Situated in the Screening & Compound Profiling group at Merck, the incumbent will play an influential role in the overall DELT strategy, and the advancement of this technology as part of the Lead Discovery toolbox. The incumbent will collaborate closely with other functions across the Merck discovery organization, and external research institutions to effectively execute our DELT strategy.


    Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology or related field

Required : 
    A minimum of 3 years of industry experience with DNA-encoded library (DEL) Technology. A proven track record of drug discovery and/or biochemistry/molecular biology. Independent and self-motivated.Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills in a team environment.Experience with training of team members in a drug discovery environment.

    Track record of independently managing the scientific execution of a project, working effectively with colleagues as well as external organization(s) to deliver on objectives.Broad experience in Protein Biochemistry, especially affinity purification methods for soluble & membrane proteins.Experience in the application of biochemical, biophysical and cell-based techniques to support hit validation and assess mechanism of action.Previous experience in a Lead Discovery enterprise, with an appreciation for the interplay of complementary technologies.Excellent organizational skills and a proven track record in managing complex workflows.
