The Enterprise Social Media Group (ESMG) Social Media Publishing Operations Lead is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cross functional team focused on embedding social capabilities in the way we do business with the goal of increasing our business and reputation.
The incumbent will work across Merck (specifically Global Communications and Marketing) and other areas of the business to proactively manage and drive adoption of Social Media capabilities (e.g. Kapost for content, Salesforce Social Studio for listening & content publishing) across our social media channels in support of the company’s business and reputation.


  • Develop awareness of planned releases, assessing business benefit and user communication
  • Advocating and Driving Adoption
  • Establishing Metrics & KPIs
  • Participation in meetings with stakeholders (brand teams, markets) to understand business needs, priorities, and objectives
  • Budget management as appropriate
  • Governance Point



  •  Bachelor’s Degree


  •  5 years relevant experience in social or digital 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working on multiple projects at one time
  • Experience with sales, marketing or promotion development 
  • Comfort working in highly matrixed environment of multiple teams and agencies
  • General understanding of the pharmaceutical industry (optional)
