Group Leader Position in Single-cell Genomics
The Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB) invites applications for a Group Leader position in Single-cell Genomics. A competitive start-up and core funding are provided, as well as access to all core facilities necessary to conduct state-of-the-art biomedical research.
We are seeking an outstanding individual who will establish an ambitious research program focused on understanding the molecular development and/or organization of the visual system, with a major focus on the eye, at the single-cell level. Applications for tenure-track and tenured Group Leader positions will be considered.
Funded in 2017 by Novartis, the University of Basel, and the University Hospital of Basel, the IOB is a new international biomedical research center dedicated to understanding the function and diseases of the visual system, and to treating and curing eye diseases which cause visual loss and blindness (www.iob.ch). In the IOB, PhD students, postdocs, physicians, and staff scientists in both basic and clinical research work together to create fundamental knowledge about the cell types, circuits, and diseases of the visual system, and use the understanding gained to develop new treatments. The IOB is situated in Basel, Switzerland, which offers an outstanding scientific and cultural environment in the center of Europe.
The IOB is an equal-opportunity employer and promotes a family-friendly working environment.
Interested candidates should submit their CV, a 3-page research plan, and names of three referees, all as a single PDF file, to email@example.com by April 15th, 2018.
