The Market Research Senior Specialist will be part of the Oncology market research team supporting both ex –US and the US marketing team.  We are looking for a sharp and ambitious individual to join our highly collaborative team with a broad mind set to analyse critical components of business performance impacting Brand Marketing issues. Under guidance from a Senior Manager, this person will plan, manage, and analyze oncology market research to answer business questions across multiple indications like Lung, Melanoma, Head & Neck, Women’s Cancers in both pre-launch and post-launch settings. 

Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Understanding the Oncology disease state with its complex sub types, rationale for treatment across different Brand choices and its overall impact on Keytruda.
  • Demonstrating a strong commercial mind set with a broad understanding of multiple customers like HCPs, Patients, Pricing & Access Customers and their likely impact on business decisions.
  • Understanding of primary market research methodologies and secondary data sets as well as syndicated studies. 
  • Understanding of  how to turn the customer insights and market data into actionable findings for internal business groups that can elevate business performance
  • This role requires interaction with multiple stakeholders across the organization that would include marketing, promotions, commercial analytics and centers of excellence. 
  • The individual must be naturally curious and collaborative and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing, dynamic environment. The individual will have consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills with an ability to self-start and hit the ground running.



  • Under the guidance of the senior market researchers and brand marketing teams, the individual will manage Market Research studies, as needed and proactively inform Commercial teams of changes in the Market, enabling immediate action, as needed. 
  • Act as Liaison between Primary & Secondary data teams to help facilitate deep dive sessions to determine reasons impacting business performance.
  • Deliver actionable insights to support business questions through identification of the appropriate Market research studies.
  • A compelling storyteller who is able to socialize the key research findings across different teams in the organization that helps in driving a holistic business decision.
  • Holds market research agencies accountable to deliver strategic business insights and most importantly, work in a compliant manner
  • Seeks out alternative/creative ways of meeting an information need, considering new techniques to address business challenges.
  • Working with senior market research members, facilitates discussion with Marketing/Commercial Teams to ensure that market research insights are pulled-through in decision-making and planning; 
  • Manages competing priorities and demands from within a product team/franchise applying best practices and innovative techniques maximize value and actionable output.
  • Work on and lead adhoc franchise wide initiatives and/or projects as needed.
Note: This position can be located in Kenilworth, NJ or Upper Gwynedd, PA




  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA)


  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in commercial functions (including Market research/sales,/ marketing) and a good working knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Experience in working in a highly dynamic and fast paced commercial environment where decision making is driven by multiple stakeholders across several divisions.
  • Minimum of 2 years in past marketing commercial roles (sales, marketing, market research, promotions) is required. 


  • Experience in working in a highly dynamic and fast paced commercial environment where decision making is driven by multiple stakeholders across several divisions.
  • Knowledge of the Oncology disease area highly desirable but not a must.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Industry desirable.
  • Working on Commercial Product teams strongly desirable. Individual should have experience in one or more areas: Marketing/Market research/Sales/ Analytics.
