Post Doctoral Research Associate
The Dosdall Lab at the Nora Eccles Harrison Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute (CVRTI) has an immediate vacancy for a postdoctoral research associate to conduct cardiac arrhythmia research at the CVRTI at the University of Utah. The candidate will work on an NIH-funded, translational research project seeking to improve medical device technology. The candidate will work under the mentorship of Derek Dosdall, PhD.

COMPENSATION: $47,000–$54,000. Strong benefit package including tuition reduction program, retirement and health plan options.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours per week, days. Some evenings and/or weekends depending on experiments.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to be involved with hardware and software development as well as with experimental animal research. The candidate will be responsible for planning for and conducting experiments, data analysis, presenting results, and preparing manuscripts for publication.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates will be evaluated on research experience and expertise. The candidate should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctorate with preference given to individuals with an engineering background (biomedical, electrical or mechanical). The candidate must be a self-motivated problem solver capable of independent work with excellent communication and writing skills. Experience with data analysis software such as Matlab and/or Labview as well as statistical analysis will be beneficial.
