The Departments of Urology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine are seeking applicants for the Jerry D. Choate Presidential Endowed Chair in Urology Tissue Engineering. This is a tenured (Associate or Full Professor) faculty position with split faculty appointments in the School of Medicine in UC Irvine’s Henry and Susan Samueli College of Health Sciences and the Samueli School of Engineering. Candidates are expected to be accomplished researchers interested in creating a program that will be centered on urological tissue engineering for the purpose of reconstruction or regeneration to include urethral tissue engineering; they must also be able to contribute to the teaching and service missions of both departments. The Chair holder will be provided with state of the art research facilities both at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center in Orange, CA and on the main campus in Irvine, CA where there are many opportunities for collaborative and translational projects to be developed. The successful candidate is expected to have a multidisciplinary, transformative impact on the field of tissue engineering and the field of Urology. Applicants must have a M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree in related fields.
