Instructor of Statistical Services
Job Description Position is responsible for the management of the School of Veterinary Medicine's Statistical Services Unit, providing statistical consultation and statistical instruction to those involved in both basic and clinical research.
Coordination, management, and supervision of the School of Veterinary Medicine's Statistical Services Unit, to include administration of the Unit's daily activities and budget and to effectively coordinate with the School Of Veterinary Medicine Computer Resources Unit and the Experimental Statistics Department. Provision of statistical consultation to SVM researchers (Faculty, Students, & Staff) in both clinical and basic research to include experimental and study design, statistical programming and graphics generation where relevant, and the editing of statistical portions of manuscripts and grants for broad readership. Will also provide statistical instruction to professional veterinary students and graduate students within the VMED curriculum. Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in applied statistics and 5 years experience in biostatistical consultation.
Experience in both design and analyses in both basic science and clinical settings. Knowledge of standard statistical package to include SAS, SPSS and/or R. Proficiency in both oral and written English language. Ability to communicate technical statistics methods and results in laymen's terms for broad audiences.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience in a university.
