Head of Laboratory -in vivo- CardioMetabolic Diseases Research - 181424

The department CardioMetabolic Diseases Research (CMDR) in Biberach is responsible for the discovery of innovative treatments for the indications diabetes, obesity, retinopathies and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. We identify new therapeutic concepts, validate those and pursue novel molecules towards clinical development.
We are now seeking a motivated Head of Laboratory to join the CMDR team.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your role you will lead a highly motivated and experienced team as head of an in vivo research laboratory.
  • You will support the CMDR pipeline and projects with experimental in vivo studies and new target
  • Furthermore you will act as research project leader of drug discovery projects in close collaboration with other
  • You will also collaborate with academia, biotech and other pharma companies.


  • Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, molecular pharmacology or M.D. in medicine or veterinary medicine and relevant post-doc experience or an equivalent qualification
  • Deep understanding of in vivo pharmacology
  • Expertise in the pathophysiology of CMDR´s focus areas, especially obesity, retinopathies and NASH, is a plus
  • Experience in the setup, validation and execution of relevant preclinical models and studies, internally as well as in collaboration with CROs
  • Experience in pharmaceutical discovery research is desirable
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and fluency in English
