Seeking an energetic, collaborative team member to act as the Lead Analyst to liaise across the end to end supply chain business areas and information technology to:

  • Understand business needs across the supply chain (planning, manufacturing, test, packaging, distribution).
  • Align strategic IT roadmap with business strategic initiatives.
  • Influence proposed solutions across the supply chain.
  • Understand the data flow, touch-points, hand-offs, and KPIs across the supply chain and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend IT investments to realize business value and strategic vision.
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship will all clinical supply chain stakeholders (across functional areas).
  • Serve as a member of the Clinical Supply Chain Council Strategy Team.
We are looking for a professional with information technology experience and knowledge of the clinical supply chain. As the Lead Analyst, you will be the conduit between the cross-functional business areas and IT departments determining the business needs both tactically and strategically and working with our delivery team to translate these needs into solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, facilitates effective conversations across various functional areas and levels, seeks to understand all aspects of the business processes, has the ability to develop a strategic investment roadmap, prioritizes IT investments to align with roadmap, and collaborates in a team environment.

The following are the broad responsibilities of the E2E Clinical Supplies Lead Analyst role:

  • Gather insight from all clinical supply chain stakeholders across functional business areas about needs and future growth.
  • Ability to clearly articulate business value gained with implementing solution(s) including operational advancements, process efficiencies, and alignment with IT/Business strategies.
  • Partner with delivery leads to ensure each project drives business value and is executed successfully.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned project tasks and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Evaluate, test and recommend new opportunities(i.e. Proof of Concept) for enhancing capabilities and processes.
  • Leverage the software development process to ensure “fit for purpose” implementation.
  • Build personal network across business stakeholders and within IT.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in motivating team and customers in the achievement of shared objectives across functional business areas.
  • Execute project management for local or small projects.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert as it relates to the end to end clinical supply chain processes and the current business environment.
  • Initiate improvements, including the ability to perform root cause analysis to identify current state process inefficiencies.
  • Network with other CSLs (formally and/or informally) to establish best practices.


  • Bachelor's Degree is required (Concentration in Engineering, Sciences, Information Systems or related field preferred).

  • A minimum of 5 yrs experience in the areas of business analysis, client and business process engineering in a client facing role.
  • Strong ability to acquire and process knowledge across the diverse stakeholders of the clinical supply chain.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, decision making / trade off analysis, and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success in building strong relationships across various functional (manufacturing, testing, packaging, quality, logistics) client organizations and technology centers.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex and dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow up; strong analytical skills together with developed business acumen.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
  • Consistently demonstrates Merck Leadership Standards; is a leader of change and actively drives strategy development and implementation in the organization.

  • Project management experience (excluding financial systems).
  • Experience with Merck System Development Lifecycle or equivalent systems development approach.
  • Understand of data flow relationships and experience with driving data stewardship initiatives.
  • Experience with completing risk, regulatory, and data security assessments.
  • Process mapping experience.
  • Strong orientation toward Innovation & Creativity.
  • Experience with developing strategic roadmaps and clearly articulating current vs to be processes.
