Integrates EHS programs into daily operations to assure regulatory compliance, achieves continuous performance improvement, meeting EHS performance objectives. Partners with operations to develop objectives to achieve these goals in alignment with site business goals and values.
This EHS professional will be required to:  Respond to on-site safety or health incidents, evaluates urgency and responds accordingly. Identifies unsafe conditions and behaviors and recommends corrective action. Investigates incidents and near misses and tracks outcomes to closure.
Partnering with the business to take preventative and corrective actions for environmental health and safety. 
  • Identify EHS program and training improvement opportunities. 
  • Monitor compliance to EHS training and site procedures. 
  • Analyze safety metrics and review incidents weekly and monthly to identify incident trends. Communicate trends to leadership. 
  • Develop, execute, and oversee an effective audit strategy to ensure regulatory and corporate EHS program compliance. 
  • Advise the organization of regulatory agency compliance changes and their impact to the EHS program and organization. 
  • Deliver on-time and quality projects. 
  • As needed, complete hazard assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, process hazard analysis, life safety reviews, incident investigations, environmental regulatory field analysis and support environmental reporting. 
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness through training and communications. 
  • Partner with committees (such as safety and ergonomics) to develop action plans and goals and drive projects to timely completion. 
  • Advise the site leadership team in processes to improve EHS management and performance in their areas of responsibility. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations (EHS). 
  • Perform health, safety, and environmental audits, informal facility walk-through’s, and associated follow-up activities. 
  • Assist with regulatory compliance at national, regional, and local level. Assist with conformance to company standards. 
  • Perform routine assessments based on company standards to identify program specific deficiencies and areas of risk. 
  • Respond to employee questions regarding health and safety concerns; 
  • Exhibit working knowledge of state and federal OSHA programs and standards. 
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost and safety to achieve positive safety results in all areas. 
  • Review change proposals (including capital projects and new product introductions) to identify potential EHS issues and participate in their resolution 
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager. 

Education Minimum Requirement:
  • BS/BA in Safety, Environmental, Ergonomics, Science or other relevant field required (Masters' Degree is preferred)
Required Experience and Skills: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of applied EHS work experience. 
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Proficient with data analysis tools. 
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders. 
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills 
  • High-energy individual who is goal-oriented and results-driven 
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Change in priorities is the norm in this team and the role holder must be comfortable working in a fast- paced environment. 
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize conflicting demands to meet all compliance deadlines.
