Fellowship in Cardio-Biology
The Cardio-biology position focuses on the molecular and cell cardio-biology of cardiac hypertrophy and failure. Focus is on the role of resistin family of proteins and their downstream pathways in mediating myocyte hypertrophy and dysfunction, fibrosis, mitochondrial dysfunction, alteration in calcium sensitivity and inflammation. Right heart dysfunction in pulmonary hypertension.
Requires outstanding productive experience in basic cardiac and cardiac myocyte pathobiology and function. Experience in metabolism and energetics, immunology and cardiac physiology, echo, helpful.
