3-4 Postdoctoral Associates in Cell Biology, Biophysics, Microscopy and Chemistry

As part of a multidisciplinary consortium between the Rothman, Bewersdorf, Toomre and Schepartz groups at Yale University, we seek 3-4 outstanding candidates to engage in cutting-edge research at the interface of cell biology and biophysics, microscopy development and fluorescent probe development. Our consortium applies new probes and single-molecule imaging to elucidate fundamental questions about cellular nanomachines and organelle traffic at unprecedented resolution.

The PIs are world-renown experts in SNAREs, super-resolution and live-cell imaging, and chemical biology. We seek several exceptional candidates for the following 4 projects: 1) Single-molecule imaging of SNAREs (Rothman), 2) Optical development of a super-resolution microscope and image processing algorithms (Bewersdorf), 3) 3D imaging of membrane traffic (Toomre), 4) Synthesis and testing of novel super-resolution probes (Schepartz).

Candidates should hold a PhD and have a strong foundation in either: Cell Biology, (single-molecule) Microscopy, Biophysics or Chemistry.  They should have a strong publication record, interest in interdisciplinary research, be highly motivated and have outstanding quantitative skills. The ideal candidates will be able to work comfortably and collaboratively with a diverse group of researchers.

If interested, please send a cover letter, CV and 3 references to
