Grant Proposal Writer
The Grant Proposal Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, editing and coordinating grant application process; management of proposals and maintaining required database and records.
Bachelor’s degree in English or Journalism, with three (3) years experience.
PhD, knowledge of basic research, clear and concise writing and editing of grants with at least 5 years experience, reports, and/or contracts. Detail oriented, organized, and deadline-driven. Able to effectively communicate. Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a complex and fast-paced environment. High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Writes and edits high-quality grant proposals narratives, applications, and supporting documents.
Responsible for researching, collecting data, and writing of each grant. Work with departments to compile financials and data for the grant submissions. Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.
Communicates to directors, assistants, and students of research grant and contract opportunities as directed by the Associate Dean for Research. Conducts prospect research to identify, cultivate and solicit new grants. Coordinate and organize meetings, conferences or workshops for research activities requested by the Associate Dean for Research. Coordinates and leads meetings and presentations within the School or HSC teams as necessary.
Maintains frequent contact and serves as the liaison with collaborating investigators across the School of Dentistry departments and campus.
Responsible for ensuring all protocols are followed for successful submission of grants and any supporting documentation required. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable and applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures are in compliance. Perform other duties assigned.
