As a  Scrum Master at Merck’s Austin IT HUB, you will be part of inventing tomorrow. Our Innovative centers are where great people come together and deliver solutions that save and improve lives.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • As a Scrum Master your key objective will be to deliver the highest possible value for the company, our users and our employees.
  • Help our product development teams and organization in adopting agile principles and values through practical application of different frameworks and approaches.
  • Be part of the Scrum masters team at Merck and participating in agile adoption across global software engineering and Merck.
  • Coach both individuals and teams.
  • Get together people from different parts of the company, different time zones and different backgrounds.


  • High School Diploma or GED, required with relevant experience


  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an agile environment
  • Ability to demonstrate deep understanding and comprehensive practical knowledge of SCRUM and/or Kanban
  • The following skills are a must:
    • communication
    • negotiation
    • coaching
    • facilitating
    • conflict resolution
    • stakeholder management


  • Experience in both waterfall and agile project management
  • Previous experience in agile adoption/transformation
