The Ohio State University College of Medicine is conducting a nationwide search for the chair of the Department of Neuroscience, one of its seven basic science departments focused on interdisciplinary research and education of the nervous systems. The department hosts a robust research infrastructure and over the past two years has doubled NIH funding, tripled graduate fellow and post-doctoral fellowship awards, received a new NIH P30 award and doubled the number of high-impact journal articles.

The chair of the Department of Neuroscience is responsible for guiding the growth of the department’s highly respected research and education enterprises. Qualifications include an established national reputation and sustained funding record as a neuroscience researcher, strong accomplishments in collaborative and translational research, and excellent leadership skills. Investigators with outstanding research accomplishments and collaborative interests that complement the existing strengths of our university in neurological and psychiatric disorders are encouraged to apply.
