The University of Florida (UF) College of Veterinary Medicine ( is seeking highly-qualified applicants for a full‐time (12-month), state‐funded tenure‐track position as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Veterinary Virology. Applicants should have a DVM or equivalent degree with a PhD or suitable advanced training in virology. Strong preference will be given to applicants with expertise in virus isolation, identification and characterization techniques, basic and advanced molecular tools and accreditation procedures in diagnostic virology.  Primary responsibilities for this independent position include 1) working collaboratively with and overseeing the virology section of the UF College of Veterinary Medicine Diagnostic Laboratories, 2) establishing a strong, independent, externally-funded research program and 3) didactic teaching and clinical training of professional veterinary students, graduate students and residents.

The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine provides a strong collaborative environment with opportunities to work with other UF academic units, such as other colleges in the Health Science Center (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, etc.), the Emerging Pathogens Institute as well as and the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
